A wildfire in northern San Diego County has spread to nearly 1,300 acres and burned a total of 4,276 acres, prompting mandatory evacuations, the fire department said Monday. Two rapidly spreading wildfires have prompted the evacuation of more than 2,000 residents in the Fullerton area of Riverside County, California, and prompted an enforced evacuation of about 1.5 million people on Monday, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The fire was 39 percent contained, Cal Fire-Riverside said, while the Los Angeles Fire Department said on its website Monday morning.

The fire burned 8 acres and was contained in the northeast corner of Gilbert and Castlewood, the Fullerton Police Department said in an update at 9: 45 p.m. The latest was a small bushfire on the east side of the Brea Dam that was ignited on Wednesday night. It was reported to have erupted in the Gilbert-Castlewoods area, followed by one near the Brea Dam and another south of it.
